ISLAMA
BAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khurshid Shah on Monday said that his party did not support the calls for early elections.
Talking to journalists, the senior politician emphasised that the general election should be held on its scheduled time.
Ex
pressing reservations over the census results concerning Sindh, Shah said the provincial populat
ion figure had
been understated. However, he said his party had no objection if the general election was held on the basis of the 1998 census results.
Shah said the number of assembly seats would have been increased by 10 to 12 if authentic populat
ion fig
ure of the province had been reported.
