RAWALPINDI: Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on Saturday said that whatever anyone might say, he would refrain from passing comments over judiciary’s observations.
“I would not comment on any observations of the judiciary, irrespective of whatever someone might say,” Saad Rafique said while speaking at the inaugurati
on of a new rake at Rawalpindi Railway Station.
Speaking about the improving situati
on of the Pakistan Railways, Saad Rafique said during the 65 years prior to PML-N’s government, very little was
invested in the ministry and that “the directi
on of any minimal
investments received was not right.”
“We can not transform a 65-year-old system in 5-years, despite the swift pace we are working at. It would ta
ke another 10-years for us to work at a similar pace
to produce distinctive results,” the railways minis
ter added.
He further briefed that a cellular company has installed a service for the passenger to charge their phones during the journey. “The ministry is functioning positively and with the passage of time, there will be more improvements,” Rafique assured.
The lawmaker also said that, in comparison to the previous governments, the Railways ministry has seen major improvement in terms of financial gains during the ongoing tenure of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
